Woodchat Shrike 9th May

After waking early, went sown to find the woodchat shrike. Pensive approaching as very strong winds but there it was looking splendid. Left about 7:50 and last sighting was at 8 so happy that my insomnia got me the bird!

Nice Visit

A glorious trip to Nice for bank holiday - fab weather. Lots of swifts screaming over vieux nice, a few crag martins and singing Sardinian warbler - didn't go for the bird but the sun and pastis!
